SEA STAR WASTING DISEASE (SSWD) MYSTERY SOLVED.

 After over a decade of searching biologists had found the agent that causes SSWD.  For some time it was thought that a Densovirus was the agent but later research determined it was actually a bacterium, Vibrio pectenicida. While some populations of sea stars have shown some recovery others have not.
